Draft for review
This notice is a working draft prepared for internal review. It has not been reviewed by a solicitor and does not constitute final legal advice. It must be reviewed and confirmed before launch.
Last updated: 4 June 2026
Who we are
MEES Radar is a lead-research service operated by Jack Hitchmough, based in Wigan, UK. For any privacy question, email jack@meesradar.co.uk. The data controller details and ICO registration status are to be confirmed before launch.
What data we collect
- Enquiry details you provide through our contact form: your name, company name, email address, the postcode areas you cover, your request type (free sample or walkthrough), and any optional message.
- Lead data we compile: information about commercial properties — such as EPC ratings and improvement recommendations — together with related company and director details, drawn from public registers (see Data sources). Some of this may be personal data where it relates to an identifiable individual.
- Limited technical data: our hosting provider may record standard server information, such as IP addresses in access logs.
How we use it
- To respond to your enquiry, send any requested sample, and discuss the pilot with you.
- To compile and deliver qualified commercial property lead lists to client firms.
- We do not sell your enquiry details.
Lawful basis
We expect to rely on the following UK GDPR lawful bases, to be confirmed before launch:
- For handling your enquiry: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and/or our legitimate interests in responding to you.
- For compiling lead data from public registers: our legitimate interests (and those of our clients), subject to a legitimate interests assessment.
These bases are provisional and must be confirmed by a solicitor.
Data sources
Lead data is built from official public registers, including Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) data and Companies House. EPC data contains public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0. We use each source in accordance with its applicable licence terms; the exact licence position for each source is currently under review and will be confirmed before launch.
Lead data caveat
Because some lead information concerns individuals - for example sole traders or named directors - that information is personal data, and those individuals have rights over it. Our lawful basis and the licence terms of our sources are being finalised, and this section will be updated before launch.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details only for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and any resulting relationship, then delete them. Specific retention periods are to be confirmed.
Sharing
We use third-party providers to run the service, which may process data on our behalf - for example our website host (Vercel), our form and automation tooling (n8n), and the email tool we use to follow up. We do not sell your personal data. A full list of processors is to be confirmed.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the use of your personal data, and to data portability. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
